Leads for Leadership Success

Qout, Enlightened leadership is spiritual if we understand spirituality not as some kind of religious, dogma or ideology but as the domain of awareness where we experience values like truth, goodness, beauty, love, and compassion, and also intuition, creativity, insight, and focused attention.” – Deepak Chopra

“The speed of the leader determines the rate of the pack.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence, seeing how you react. If you’re in control, they’re in control.” – Tom Landry

An employee that was interviewed for the first job as a manager was asked “Why do you like to be a manager” The answer was “I know about managing, I learned a lot about managing, and I feel like I can be a great mentor to the employees. I am excited to share my knowledge of HR and build a great team.

4 Realistic Ways to Steer Clear of Office Drama (Without Being a Goody Two-Shoes)

The HR that was interviewing the applicant told here that “managing people is a pain in the neck.”

This applicant was given the job and find out that she has to learn from experience what was missing in the university. She was not prepared for the real life of managing other people.

The new HR manager new here job by the books but not in real life. It takes some time to learn the Soft Skills for management. The school for these skills in the school of life, making mistakes and learning the lessons in the form of learning and the success in managing people is the graduation of this school.

People look at the leader waiting for orders or instructions; examples create induction of their mood too.

Leaders Must Identify the Place, Clear the Path, and Set the Pace

Setting the Pace

If you are in a panic about anything in the workplace be sure that you will induce it to your workforce. Your staff will be as nervous and have the same stress as yourself. A manager that while working in tomatoes packing-house with 150 workers, noticed that if he shows that he is not happy with the packed tomatoes, the people rejected more good tomatoes than it was necessary when he asked why some tomatoes where rejected the workers start passing bad quality tomatoes to the good tomatoes boxes. The solution was to keep poker-face when inspecting the packing process.

Remember that you are the person that people are looking at waiting to see your mood and react as your face show them. You have to be calm and transmit your calmness to your workers.

Be careful not to take real pressure as the pressure you make by yourself. You can have real pressure made by big orders or unrealistic demanding by your superiors.

The pressure that was made up by your worries, and additional means you imposed. You should push back this self-invented pressure.

A frantic manager affects the worker making them stressed as he is always in a panic about something. Not necessary a real problem, it can be putting up a crazy schedule that was invented in the manager’s head.

I the reality a client was not asking the delivery on Friday, but for Monday, there was no need to push the people to finish it on Friday afternoon working extra hours. The people where save only because of a missing formation and a call to the client that expressed no urgency for Friday.

It was a chain work of passing the wrong delivery time for the project. It was influenced by frenetic boos that made it cross the manager’s chain of command.

This was an example of negative pace influence by the manager. I was ended by circumstances not by managing with calm and control of the managers.

Setting Expectations

Expectations should be expressed clearly by the boss. If the manager asks for project A to be the superiority one he should not come later complaining that project C is advancing too slowly.

The setting expectation is an important part of the manager’s job, he or she must have priorities in the order of work, some are clients needs others are casual limits and problem resolving with logistics.

The manager has to graze his team to the promise land of working in a good atmosphere mental peace, not is a stressed place feeling pressure and being unhappy with the job they do.

A well-made schedule where there are no unexpected and no real need to make changes is one key-stone you can say you did not see or did not notice.

You have been part of your team to know what is going on with the work that needs to be done. The channel you have with your people should keep you informed about the advancing work or any problem that you may have. A leader has to work within reality.

Leading by Example

People look at the leader and take his way as a model for doing their work. If the boss comes late to work his moral power to ask his workers to come on time is very wick and vise versa. Your workers will learn from you how to manage a meeting. Only if you will do it in the right way. Do not talk about customers behind their back if you want your people to respect them.

You have to demonstrate leadership is remembering that your staff is looking at you to see your reaction to their action. Sometimes they are watching you learn, but it can be looking at you to find your soft spot and take advantage.

A 30,000 employees company had to serve all these employees with an envelope with the annual increase if their salary. Filling all these envelopes with the piece of paper is a giant job. The HR vise president did not bark the order to do it he was together with his staff stuffing the new salary notice in the enveloped together with his whole team.

All the HR department was their snuffing papers into envelopes from the receptionist to the boss.

The boss that this is the moment to help his people not to seat in his office. The workers new that the boss is conscious about the hard work and the urgency in doing it on time, so he left all his other tasks and dedicated his time to help the department be on time.

Being a leader is not only giving orders; it is there solving problems with his people.
